Herbert A. Insel, MD, FACC, Honored for Excellence in Cardiology

    NEW YORK, NY, July 15, 2015 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Herbert A. Insel, MD, FACC, MD, Cardiologist of Herbert Insel, MD, FACC, has been recognized for showing dedication, leadership and excellence in cardiology.

Dr. Insel has maintained a private practice in Manhattan for 30 years. He is board certified in both internal medicine and cardiovascular diseases. His focus is on preventive medicine and cardiology and on developing methods to help his patients adopt heart healthy lifestyles and achieve their personal wellness goals.

As of June 1, 2015, Dr. lnsel has relocated his practice to a more convenient prime midtown location. His new office address is 30 E. 40th Street, Suite 1100, New York, NY 10016. His office telephone number, (212) 360-1800, remains the same. In addition, Dr. Insel is now joined by his daughter. Jennifer B. Insel, who received a Master of Science in Clinical Nutrition, Food Studies and Public Health at NYU. She will be seeing patients as a Nutritionist and will complement Dr. Inset's philosophy of preventive health and wellness. Dr. Insel graduated from SUNY Downstate Medical Center in 1979. He went on to complete an internship and residency in medicine at Brookdale Hospital Medical Center and a fellowship in cardiology at Lenox Hill Hospital. Dr. Insel has admitting privileges at New York University Langone Medical Center and Lenox Hill Hospital He is also a Clinical Instructor in Medicine at NYU Langone Medical Center. He is a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology. Dr. Insel is the Senior Cardiologist for EHE International, an organization well-regarded as one of the leaders in providing both superior physical examinations and preventive medicine. Dr. Insel is a member of The American Heart Association, The New York County Medical Society and The American Society for Preventive Cardiology.

Dr. Insel gained inspiration from his own personal and family's health related issues while growing up. From his own personal medically related experiences, he learned the importance of maintaining a healthy lifestyle to help overcome disease. Early on, he also developed a sense of compassion toward others who were sick and a desire to help them overcome their medical problems. His father suffering a heart attack and passing away shortly afterwards from a stroke was the impetus for him to enter the field of cardiology. He became determined to do the utmost during his personal career to help his patients avoid such outcomes. As a practicing physician he has formed close bonds with his patients and continues to be an inspiration to them while helping them overcome their medical challenges.

In recognition of his excellence, Dr. Insel has been honored with a multitude of awards and distinctions. He has been selected to be included in The Leading Physicians of the World. Dr. Insel has been one of New York's "Super Doctors" from 2008-2014.
