Smith Youth Center, 1900 West 5th Street, Oxnard. The day celebrates children as the future of our society and encourages families to spend quality time together. More than 3,000 kids and their families are expected to attend.

The free event boasts a family-fun atmosphere, with games, prizes, face painting, jolly jumpers, a rock wall, a petting zoo, Gamez on Wheelz and pony rides, along with great food and more. There will be live stage entertainment, including the Voices of Hope Choir and a reptile show put on by the Reptile Family. There will also be information booths where families can get information about services provided within the community, and BGCOP will be providing free new memberships.

"Day for Kids engages the community, local businesses and service agencies as they come together in one location to host booths and provide resources for our youth and their families," said Erin Antrim, BGCOP chief executive officer. "It's so important to spend time with our kids. We appreciate everyone's help in making this event successful as we encourage adults and youth to spend more time together and build a connection that will last a lifetime."
