Vincent Valentino Honored for Excellence in Discrimination Cases

Mr. Valentino has had seven cases make newspaper headlines



Mr. Valentino was named an AV-Preeminent Attorney by Martindale-Hubbell almost 25 years ago.

    LINCOLN, NE, July 28, 2015 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Vincent Valentino, Attorney of the Law Offices of Vincent Valentino, has been recognized for showing dedication, leadership and excellence in discrimination cases and governmental litigation.

Mr. Valentino brings 41 years of experience to his role as an attorney of the Law Offices of Vincent Valentino. Throughout his career, he has set himself apart through his exemplary work on discrimination cases involving sex, disability or age. He also provides civil rights defense involving jails, law enforcement and other areas of governmental litigation in federal and state courts. To date, Mr. Valentino has had seven cases make newspaper headlines, with most being first impressions. In 1984, he was involved in trying the then-Nebraska attorney general for perjury as a special prosecutor.

Looking back, Mr. Valentino attributes his success to being motivated because he enjoys what he does. As a teenager, he served as the editor of his high school paper, which was twice named All-American. This experience brought to light his writing and debating skills, as well as his desire to help people. He then set his sights on pursuing a career in law. He worked for Omaha Legal Aid as a senior law student and interned in the Douglas County Attorney's Office during his senior year. He was awarded a Reginald Heber Smith fellowship at Howard University School of Law in the District of Columbia for two years in a row, although he was sent to Omaha, NE, on a fellowship to practice legal aid. Mr. Valentino was elected York county attorney two years later in 1978, and served in that capacity for 15 years. During this time, he gained a great deal of experience in criminal prosecution and governmental litigation as the Nebraska Inter-Government Risk Management Association was formed in 1988. He has had broad experience in all areas of civil and criminal litigation.

Mr. Valentino received a JD and a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Creighton University. He has served as a board chair of the Epworth Village for Children for 13 years, and he has also served as a board member of Nebraska State Crime Stoppers. His affiliations include the Nebraska State Bar Association and the Nebraska County Attorneys Association, where he formerly served as president. In recognition of his professionalism and dedication, Mr. Valentino was named an AV-Preeminent Attorney by Martindale-Hubbell almost 25 years ago, and has been given the highest ratings for ethics and professionalism by both judges and fellow lawyers.
