Storied St. Louis Artists' Guild Celebrates New Location

New space boasts over 5,500 square feet of gallery space for displaying regional artists' work.

ST. LOUIS, MO, August 06, 2015 /24-7PressRelease/ -- On Tues., June 2, the St. Louis Artists' Guild moved to a new location in Clayton, boasting over 5,500 square feet of gallery space. The Artists' Guild focuses on displaying regional artists and educating anyone about art who expresses an interest.

Currently in its 129th year of operation, the Artists' Guild is preparing to move into its fourth permanent location. The Artists' Guild moved out of its 20 year home in Oak Knoll Park to the new location off North Jackson Avenue, where it believes it can further its mission to share art with everyone.

"It has always been the mission of this organization to present artists' work," said Kathryn Nahorski, Executive Director of the St. Louis Artists' Guild. "Exhibition is at its core, and we want to make sure that we are doing the very best for our regional and national artists."

One such regional artist recently displayed at the new location is Keith Baizer, an artist based in St. Louis. Though he spends most of his time as owner of St. Louis' Artmart, Baizer relishes the opportunity to see his own creativity come to life at the Artists' Guild.

"Our city is truly fortunate to have an organization as historic and well-established as the St. Louis Artists' Guild," Baizer remarked. "To add my work to the myriad of artists who have already come through these halls is an exciting moment, and I know the Artists' Guild will continue to attract highly skilled artists in their next chapter."

Artmart has partnered with the Artists' Guild for over 60 years by supporting shows, events, and programming, including their endowment for children's art events.

The St. Louis Artists' Guild was founded in 1886 for people who love art. Today, it boasts almost 700 members committed to their mission statement: "To be a resource and advocate for creative expression, serving the Midwest as a center that exhibits, supports, and promotes the visual arts."

The St. Louis Artists' Guild is now located at 12 North Jackson Avenue. The gallery is free and open to the public Tuesday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. For more information on the St. Louis Artists' Guild, call (314) 727-6266.
