STAND2LEARN Provides Ki Charter with Alternative 'Seating' Option

Ki Charter Academy in San Marcos, has selected Stand2Learn as one of their alternative 'seating' options that allow their students to expend energy during classroom instruction.

SAN MARCOS, TX, August 20, 2015 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Ki Charter Academy aims to meet the needs of a student population that is often overlooked and forgotten in educational conversations. To do this, they offer a culmination of STEM-focused curriculum, response to intervention (RTI) programming, social and emotional character building, as well as research-based equipment and furniture designed especially for the students and uniquely-gifted staff - supplementing traditional all-in-one student desks with specialty furniture to include stand-biased desks and kinesthetic classroom desks. Everyone was able to test drive the classroom options during the Ribbon Cutting Ceremony held August 13th.

Ki Charter Academy in San Marcos, Texas, is a school for students in state residential facilities (RFs), with plans to partner with the largest RF in the state, the San Marcos Treatment Center. School would top out at 220 students, and focus on an "underrepresented and high-needs population" with a curriculum including Scholastic's boxed Read 180 and Math 180 programs, and the "Pitsco STEM/CTE Modular laboratory," with an abundance of support in the classroom including, content area teachers, inclusion teachers and instructional assistants. According to Superintendent Jerry Lager, their mission is "to provide high-needs students with a variety of rigorous, career and academic focused curriculum to maximize potential, growth and success. We will reintroduce our students back into their respective schools, with improved overall behaviors and reduced learning gaps."
