His goal in writing these books is to help alleviate the pain experienced by patients with functional digestive disorders.

Since 1986, he has served the Quebec government in fields such as wage management, energy policy, forest policy, coordination, municipal research, and interprovincial and international trade.

Mr. Tremblay celebrates a diverse career that has spanned 30 years. From government work to authorship, he has remained dedicated to implement new ideas. His next endeavors will include establishing a business with his son and writing an e-publication on speech language impairment.

"Based on Tremblay's long-time experience with dyspepsia (indigestion) and irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), Dyspepsia and IBS for the Wise is a holistic guidebook designed to help those who suffer from various forms of functional digestive disorders (FDDs) lead healthier and fulfilling lives. Symptoms of FDDs include gastric reflux, stomach and intestinal gas, slow digestion, hiccups, some types of backache, as well as alternating diarrhea and constipation, migraines and insomnia. Since FDDs most often begins at an early age, this book is also beneficial for parents."

"Author Larry Tremblay has been writing about FDDs for over fifteen years. Now in its third edition, Tremblay's guidebook is divided into three parts: 1) Identifying FDDs through diagnoses (i.e., physically, emotionally, socially) and hypotheses (i.e., causes, such as food, emotional upset) based on his personal experiences, and then he takes a good look at resistance (i.e., why people hold back) followed by a plethora of wonderful exercises to expel gas from the stomach; 2) A Literature Review (information to help prepare for visits to health care professionals)--new in this edition; and 3) Various alternative medical techniques for wellness (includes diet recipes!). Tremblay's narrative is a balanced combination of medical language (with plenty of footnotes and references to the bibliography section to back up his statements) and speaking from the heart. He sends a clear and consistent message from section to section on the importance of listening to your body's needs and introspection (self-examination). Tremblay's insistence on introspection is imperative since many of the root causes of FDDs are often linked to traumatic childhood experiences, such as child abuse and post-traumatic stress syndrome.
