Robert S. Wright, MD, Noted for Excellence in Pulmonary and Critical Care

Dr. Wright has published articles in the journals Chest, American Journal of Respiratory and Critical Care Medicine, Annals of Emergency Medicine, and Medical Mycology.



He was recognized as Teacher of the Year and received multiple Excellence in Teaching awards while at Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital.

    SANTA BARBARA, CA, September 24, 2015 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Santa Barbara Pulmonary Consultants' Robert S. Wright, MD, FACP, FCCP, FRCP(C), has been recognized for showing dedication, leadership and excellence in medicine.

Dr. Wright graduated from Occidental College with honors and received his medical degree from the University of Southern California. He completed his medical internship and residency at the UCLA Center for Health Sciences. He then served as Chief Resident in Medicine at UCLA Hospital and completed a three-year fellowship in nephrology before deciding to change fields. He then returned to UCLA for additional training and completed a pulmonary and critical care fellowship.

In addition to his work at Santa Barbara Pulmonary Consultants, Dr. Wright served as Chief of Staff of Cottage Hospital (2004-2005) and served as President of the Santa Barbara County Medical Society (1999). He also served as Chairman of the Department of Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine and sat on various hospital committees including the multidisciplinary peer review community and the Medical Advisory Panel. He was recognized as Teacher of the Year and received multiple Excellence in Teaching awards while at Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital. He also held several important positions at Santa Barbara Medical Foundation Clinic, including Chief of the Department of Specialty Medicine and member of the Board of Directors.

Dr. Wright is the co-author of more than 20 articles. He has published articles in the journals Chest, American Journal of Respiratory and Critical Care Medicine, Annals of Emergency Medicine, and Medical Mycology.

Dr. Wright was recently inducted into Worldwide Registry and also maintains his affiliation with UCLA as Chairman of a course in pulmonary medicine for students. He is also a Clinical Professor of Medicine at the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA.
