Hastings & Hastings Condemns Highway Copycats

During the middle of September, a glooming specter settled over the great City of Phoenix, Arizona. A series of shootings occurred across a number of well-traveled Arizona highways and freeways.

PHOENIX, AZ, October 29, 2015 /24-7PressRelease/ -- These shootings instilled a sense of fear in many across Phoenix. Hastings & Hastings condemns anyone who would feed upon, or abuse this sense of fear.

On Sunday, September 13th, three teenagers were brought into custody by the Maricopa County Sheriff's Department. The three teenagers were suspected to have fired off a slingshot full of hard, granite projectiles at as many as seven vehicles late Saturday night. It is believed that the teenagers were imitating the actions of the then still at-large Phoenix Freeway Shooters.

The trio was apprehended after their license plate number was recorded by the driver of a vehicle which they had fired at. The teenagers had fired upon the vehicle after pulling alongside it on a street leading towards the Mesa Gateway Airport.

After being brought into custody, the three individuals admitted to firing upon pedestrians and vehicles alike. State director of public safety, Col. Frank Milstead commented on the incident, "none of this is fun and games, this is very serious." He further went on to elaborate about the consequences the trio of teenagers would be facing, "They're all in jail, and they've probably impacted their life negatively for some time to come, because now they will all end up with criminal records."

Hastings & Hastings believes that in such trying times, it is best for the community to rally together for support. Incidents such as these damage the unifying process. Hastings & Hastings stands against all such negative activities.

Col. Milstead steadfastly stated that the copycat teenagers were in no way linked to the serial shootings on Interstate 10. Many of the shootings on Interstate 10 involved bullets, and other as of yet unidentified projectiles.

Hastings & Hastings admires the fast and effective response of law enforcement officials to the copycat incident and hopes that such efficacy will continue to be seen in future law enforcement endeavors.
