Offshore Support and Workboats to be a Major Area of Focus at the 2016 Australasian Oil & Gas Exhibition and Conference

The 2016 Australasian Oil & Gas Exhibition and Conference, which is set for the Perth Convention Exhibition Centre from Feb. 24-26, will feature offshore support and workboats, with content support provided by a variety of international groups.

For the first time in the event's lengthy history, AOG 2016 will feature a specialist WorkBoat zone.

PERTH, AUSTRALIA, October 09, 2015 /24-7PressRelease/ -- With a string of world class Australian LNG projects making the transition from the construction to operational phase on both sides of the country, it is timely that offshore support and workboat activity will feature highly when the annual Australasian Oil & Gas Exhibition and Conference (AOG) is staged in Perth in February 2016.

For the first time in the event's lengthy history, AOG 2016 will feature a specialist WorkBoat zone, with strong content support being provided by RINA (Royal Institution of Naval Architects), the Maritime Industry Australia (MIAL), the Australian Shipbuilding & Repair Group (ASRG) and the International WorkBoat Show.

And with Fixed and Floating Offshore Structures, Prelude FLNG and Maritime Solutions for Offshore Oil & Gas providing significant content for the AOG 2016 conference program, there will be something for everyone who is involved in or wants to learn more about the offshore support sector.

AOG Event Director at Diversified Communications, Bill Hare, said the event organisers were delighted to have such strong support for the inclusion of workboat related activities.

"In our discussions with the industry it has become very obvious that there is a real focus on the move to operational activities. Those discussions also identified that offshore support of the major new LNG projects that have come on stream or are about to come into production, is a real growth area and a significant area of interest for both exhibitors and attendees," Mr Hare said.

"And we are really pleased with the support we have received from industry to establish what we believe will be some real content highlights covering offshore support, offshore construction and workboats at AOG 2016."

The AOG 2016 Exhibition will be staged at the Perth Convention Exhibition Centre (PCEC) over the three days from February 24 to 26.

Australia's largest oil and gas event will be held for the 35th time, with the conference component featuring a theme of 'collaboration' with experts from leading companies from around the globe providing input on how industry, government and other key stakeholders should continue to work closely together to reduce costs and improve productivity at a time of global crude oil price uncertainty.

Significant international participation has already been confirmed, with the 2016 event featuring a range of major international pavilions including Norway, China, Singapore, the USA and the UK - with AOG once again playing a critical role in the transfer of knowledge between the northern and southern hemispheres.
