1. Evaluate and reflect
Evaluation will give a person an objective way to look at recent accomplishments and it will show a person where they are, so they can determine where they need to go - it will provide a baseline to work from. If a person evaluates and reflects on a regular basis, they will see how much they are gaining which is exciting.

2. Define dreams and goals
This isn't what already has been done, but what a person wants to do. A person should write down their dreams and then prioritise them; which are most important and what are actually attainable

3. Make S.M.A.R.T goals
This means Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Realistic and Time sensitive.

Specific: Goals are no place to waffle. Ambiguous goals produce ambiguous results.
Measurable: Always set goals that are measurable.
Attainable: One of the detrimental things that many people do--with good intentions--is setting goals that are so high that they are unattainable.
Realistic: A goal has to be something that a person can reasonably make "real" or a "reality".
Time: Every goal should have a timeframe attached to it

4. Be accountable
A person should tell someone their goals so that they can be held accountable to ensure that the goals are being achieved. If a goal is set and no one knows about, the goal will lose power.
