Board of Directors of National Rural Development Organization Eected

Dan Boysel CKAE Elected to the Board of Directors of NREDA



    MOUNT GILEAD, OH, December 10, 2015 /24-7PressRelease/ -- The National Rural Economic Developers Association (NREDA) has unanimously elected Dan Boysel to the Board of Directors during the organization's annual membership meeting held during the 2015 NREDA Annual Conference in Denver, CO for a three year term. He will assume the role on January 1st.

Dan Boysel has been an active leader in the rural electric industry for over 20 years. Dan currently is the Director of Economic Development at Consolidated Electric Cooperative (CEC) in Mount Gilead, Ohio. His responsibilities include community and economic development with an emphasis on commercial electric growth and fiber optic sales for the cooperative. Dan has been a key player in the development of CEC's REDLG and revolving loan program. He also has had a leading role in the development of CEC's Key Account program and has been recognized as a Certified Key Account Executive by the NRECA. Dan was also instrumental in the writing and winning of CEC's Broadband Infrastructure Program application, which in 2010 CEC was awarded over $2.4 million in grants and loans to build a 160-mile fiber optic infrastructure in central Ohio. With Boysel's leadership, the network has grown to over 320 miles and $13M in contracted revenue. Dan has also been active in many community organizations over his tenure including: Morrow County CIC, Morrow County Economic Development Committee, Morrow County Chamber, Delaware Preservation Parks (Commissioner), Delaware Chamber infrastructure committee and Delaware Partnership. Dan was also chosen as the Ohio Cooperative Council's "Educator of the Year" for his leadership in youth education. He is also a graduate of the National Cooperative Business Association's Future Co-op Leaders Program. He is currently on NREDA's selection committee for the Economic Developer of the year, and on the NREDA Membership Committee as a Regional Captain. Dan and his wife Kerry reside in Delaware County where they have raised their two grown sons. He also operates his own auction and real estate business. Dan earned a Bachelor's degree from The Ohio State University in Agricultural Education and a Masters of Business Administration from Ashland University.
