Joey Lanai and Abditive Films Releases Next Awaited Project
Forgoing the traditional route, director Joey Lanai has decided to release his next short film while shopping the feature.
LOS ANGELES, CA, December 18, 2015 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Director Joey Lanai has achieved success among both critics and his peers alike in the world of independent film. With accolades for both best director and best film, Lanai's varied book of projects include everything from dramas such as "Conviction" and the psychological thriller "The Disappointment of Jonathan Bender" it should come as no surprise that Lanai's next move would be to release a short film while shopping the feature.
In the short film "Cake" Lanai once again teams up with long time production partner Rian Bishop to produce an eerie, thought provoking piece which drives right through the heart of our numbers and results orientated world.
"The thought behind Cake was to take a scene from a feature that we are developing and use it as a way to help sell the project. What we found was that this small scene is such a diversion from what the feature is really about, that we could take this, and have it stand on its own two feet."
Lanai intends to start releasing the short in limited runs after the holidays. Lanai is currently represented by Eric Williams with Zero Gravity Management.
