ATLANTA, GA, December 20, 2015 /24-7PressRelease/ -- The Association of Healthcare Internal Auditors recently appointed Lorri Kissell, regional vice president of The Audit Group, Inc., as its chairperson of regional seminars for the 2016 fiscal year beginning Jan. 1.

As chairperson, Kissell will be responsible for planning and executing continued educational seminars for regions of AHIA membership across the United States. Kissell will help guide the association in its role as the premier educational resource and advocate for internal audit professionals in healthcare.

"AHIA is a great organization that I've been a part of for eight years," said Kissell. "Working with regional committees to bring valuable speakers to areas of the country provides internal audit professionals with an opportunity for educational experiences and peer contact."

AHIA, a network of experienced healthcare internal auditing professionals who are responsible for assessing and evaluating enterprise risk in a complex and dynamic healthcare environment, helps elevate and advance the internal audit professional to be an authoritative voice and strategic partner within healthcare.

Kissell, who served as the AHIA seminar committee's vice chairperson in 2014-15, will continue to serve the organization by supporting the coordination, development and execution of seminars to encourage continued education for healthcare internal auditing professions throughout the country.

"AHIA provides much needed timely content on educational topics to internal auditors working in hospitals and healthcare systems. I believe in the work AHIA does because I see the benefits as internal auditors become more effective in their jobs," said Kissell.

With more than eight years of experience helping hospitals and healthcare systems solve their accounts payable and supply chain issues, Kissell brings a wealth of knowledge and a unique perspective to her education subcommittee of AHIA. Kissell has been serving hospitals since 2012 with The Audit Group, an accounts payable and purchasing audit services firm for healthcare organizations, and has another 10 years of guiding organizations with tax solutions.

Kissell is additionally the incoming president of the Georgia Chapter of IFO, the Institute of Financial Operations.
