Boys & Girls Club to hold its 14th Annual Great Futures for Kids Breakfast

Multi-talented singer, songwriter and author Mario Bonds as keynote speaker

OXNARD, CA, January 24, 2016 /24-7PressRelease/ -- The Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Oxnard and Port Hueneme (BGCOP) is seeking sponsors for its 14th Annual Great Futures for Kids Breakfast on April 7, featuring singer, songwriter and author, Mario Bonds, as keynote speaker. After losing both his vision and his parents by age 9, Bonds suffered a childhood of abuse, abandonment, poverty and homelessness. Determined not to be defined by his adversities, Bonds persevered to ultimately reach success both personally and professionally, and now uses his experience to motivate young people to tackle their own difficult circumstances head-on and realize their full potential--a message that resonates with the mission of BGCOP.

"This annual breakfast event serves as a rally to mobilize our local businesses and individuals to help raise awareness about the Club's wide range of educational and enriching programs that help our youth successfully navigate their path to a great future," said Erin Antrim, BGCOP chief executive officer. "It's through the generous support of our donors that BGCOP can ensure our 9,200+ members will continue to receive access to the Club, and the mentoring and activities that help these young people become caring, responsible, self-sufficient citizens in our community."

Families pay $20 per year to become members of the Club; the Club pays more than $500 per year in program fees for each child. Proven to be a worthwhile investment, members of BGCOP have higher graduation rates, lower teen pregnancy and lower crime rates than area youth. For every dollar spent on BGCOP programs, there is a $17 return back to the members, parents and the community as a whole.

Sponsorship benefits include corporate recognition at the breakfast, publicity on promotional materials and tickets to the event. The deadline for sponsorship is March 18. For sponsorship opportunities, more information, or to attend the breakfast contact Erin Antrim at (805) 815-4959 ext.203 or [email protected].

The Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Oxnard and Port Hueneme exists to inspire and enable all young people to realize their full potential as productive, responsible and caring citizens.
