Wild Women Unite Events Have Open Registration in 3 States; Inviting Women to Try Something Fun and New Outdoors

    ORLANDO, FL, January 27, 2016 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Wild Women Unite is an event-based organization that provides a safe, fun place for women of all ages and stages to learn about and get comfortable with outdoor activities, since 2003.

What started in New York has now spread, with events brewing in several states and in Canada.

The latest location to launch a Wild Women Unite event is Cocoa Beach, Florida, taking place April 1-3.

Joining the Charlotte NC region and Buffalo, NY, all three sites now have open registration.

Each event features region-specific workshops, blended with some across-the-board favorites such as meditation, geocaching, yoga, campfire gourmet cooking, archery, kayaking, hiking and fishing, each taught by credentialed instructors.

Yvonne Folck, the "Original Wild Woman," founded the company and held the first Wild Women Unite event in 2003 in New York. Last year, she relocated to southern Florida. Now the dust has settled and Yvonne is ready to go! Her site features Air tours by helicopter and bi-plane, beach biking, surfing basics and kite boarding.

Dena Bruton-Claus with her husband Paul Claus are hosting Wild Women Unite in the Charlotte area specifically, Ann Springs Close Greenway in Fort Mill SC March 11-12. Some of their featured workshops include a Challenge course, 'Wild Expressions' teaching Native lore, mountain biking, pistol shooting and horseback riding.

Back in New York, Suzanne Suchan has taken over the reins for Yvonne. Her event is September 16-17 and will feature her own workshop called 'Happy Camp;' Self-defense, a favorite taught by Chain of Defense master Kathysue Dorey, a healing circle, drum circle, stand up paddleboard, and Zentangle.

Ticket prices vary by location, each with different options and incentives. Lodging is not built into the ticket price but options are available.

Outfitter giant Cabela's co-sponsors Wild Women Unite, and provides some of the workshops.

Yvonne explains, "It is a travesty that only 13% of outdoor adventure is claimed by women. How sad it is that somewhere along the way, women have been given a message to stay inside. Stay in the home and take care of the home as a homemaker. The message of the media and many husbands. That is why I started Wild Women Unite: to provide a safe, fun place for women to get started. Women should not be afraid of playing outdoors.
