Content Speakers Jeff Zinn and Leo Van Warmerdam Are Coming to the Aurora Mental Health Center

    AURORA, CO, February 07, 2016 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Content speakers Jeff Zinn and Leo Van Warmerdam will be appearing at the Aurora Mental Health Center, where they will lead a workshop for mental health care providers.

The goal of the workshop is to educate attendees about the "Four Agreements," coined by Don Miguel Ruiz, as well as mindfulness techniques. Both of these strategies are meant to give individuals struggling with mental illness and substance addiction stronger support.

Both Van Warmerdam and Zinn are professionals in the field of mental health. Warmerdam has studied directly under Don Miguel Ruiz, who began teaching him the philosophy of the Four Agreements in the year 1997. He now applies his teachings to the social services and medical fields. Zinn's experience with mental illness is more personal. For decades, he struggled with Bipolar I Disorder, which cost him a decade of multiple hospital trips and sent his life spiralling out of control. He was able to make his recovery through his discovery of Don Miguel Ruiz's Four Agreements. This life change inspired him to earn his Social Psych Rehabilitation degree. Both Zinn and Van Warmerdam strive to teach the philosophies of the Four Agreements in a way that applies them to everyday life and the work environment.

When asked about the goal of the workshop, Zinn said, "We teach people how to help their patients around them who may be struggling. We also want to teach people how to help themselves. When you're grappling with mental illness or addiction or know someone who is, it can be hard to know how to cope. We want to change lives for the better."
