SEATTLE, WA, February 11, 2016 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Carolyn C. Hale, Founder and President of Circle of Friends for Mental Health, has been recognized by Worldwide Branding for showing dedication, leadership and excellence in mental health services.

For more than 14 years, Ms. Hale has been helping those with mental illness find their voice through the creative arts as founder and president of Circle of Friends for Mental Health. Along with the organization, she provides programs in visual arts, writing, music and drama as a catalyst to help people of all backgrounds in their recovery.

Ms. Hale began her career in the education field, earning a Bachelor of Science in early childhood education from the University of Maryland College Park and a Master of Arts in curriculum and instruction from the University of Washington. Over the course of her 31-year teaching career, she has taught preschool classes, worked with Head Start groups and led classes for adults at Bellevue Community College and North Seattle Community College. Inspired by her son, who has a mental illness, she decided to start Circle of Friends for Mental Health in 2001 as a way to advocate for him.

Believing that one must be a friend and listen to others in order to achieve success, Ms. Hale sets an example for others in her personal and professional life. A person of the community, she works with many different groups and speaks publicly about her cause. Through Circle of Friends for Mental Health, she has made friends all over the world who are also fighting for the same cause and in October 2015, sponsored the Stampede Over Stigma, urging participants to increase awareness of mental illness issues. Ms. Hale hopes to continue fighting for others to obtain good mental health care for years to come and bring to fruition her goal to speak around the world on behalf of the mission of Circle of Friends for Mental Health.

Ms. Hale is a member of the League of Women Voters, the Council to End Homelessness, Raging Grannies, the Washington School Retirement Association, SSI/SSDI Outreach, Access and Recovery, and the Anti-Racism Committee.
