World Class Photographer Brings out the Best Images of Celebrity Flag Football Challenge and Consumer Electronics Show

Photographer brings his talents to star-studded events

SAN FRANCISCO, CA, February 12, 2016 /24-7PressRelease/ -- The award-winning Tom Penpark is a photographer extraordinaire who has for years been lauded internationally for his outstanding work.

The Bangkok native stands on the summit of the photography industry through his expansive collection of achievements, accolades and prestigious distinctions. From nature landscapes to architecture, to electronics, food, people and objects, Penpark has captured some of the world's best still imagery.

"I think the beauty in the photograph is the perfection of the imperfection," Penpark said. "I love taking pictures of all kinds of subjects. The emotion of people, the perfection in still life and perfectly timed landscape photos always inspire me and push me to go beyond myself."

Penpark is the Digital Media Group Manager and Lead Photographer for Monster Cable Products, Inc., a world leader in electronics manufacturing known for their high performance audio and video cables.

Most recently, for Monster PR and social media campaigns, Penpark shot images at Celebrity Sweat's 15th annual Celebrity Flag Football Challenge on Saturday, Feb. 6 at Santa Clara University's Stevens Stadium, in Santa Clara, Calif.

Benefitting the Wounded Warrior Project, a non-profit charity and veterans service organization, the flag football game featured now retired and legendary quarterback Doug Flutie going up against Kirk Cousins, starting quarterback of the Washington Redskins. The event was hosted by Hollywood physique expert Eric the Trainer.

Among the notable names participating in the challenge were Grammy Award winning rapper and actor Ludacris, boxing champion Victor Ortiz, six-time NFL Pro Bowl receiver Ocho Cinco and Dallas Cowboy legends Tony Dorsett and Michael Irvin.

Penpark photographed Ludacris, Ortiz, Cousins, Flutie, Miss California Teen USA Athenna Crosby, Jake Miller, Bryan Braman and Brock O'Hurn.

"The images came out great," Penpark said. "This was my first time shooting for Celebrity Sweat's football challenge and it was a great experience. It is not easy for a photographer to have access to celebrities. The game was for a great cause and was part of America's biggest sports weekend with the Super Bowl."

Celebrity Sweat is a fitness organization that combines music and sports to promote health and wellness. Celebrity Sweat events raise money for children's charities and youth groups, and are dedicated to supporting causes such as the Special Olympics and Breast Cancer Awareness. The organization also sponsors events during Major League Baseball's All-star weekend, the NCAA Tournament's Final Four and the ESPY Awards.

The Celebrity Flag Football Challenge is being televised this month and Celebrity Sweat's website has details here: www.csweat.com/celebrity-flag-football-tv-schedule-released/.

The event was part of Super Bowl 50 weekend. The Denver Broncos won the Super Bowl by defeating the Carolina Panthers, 24-10, Sunday, Feb. 7, at Levi's Stadium, in Santa Clara.

Penpark also recently engaged his talents for Monster as their lead photographer last month at the 2016 Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas.

CES is an annual electronics trade show and awards program that's organized by the Consumer Technology Association. The event originated in 1967 in New York City.

At CES, Penpark photographed the highly anticipated concert, "Heal the World: A Tribute to Michael Jackson." The tribute was held Jan. 7 at Las Vegas' Axis Theater at Planet Hollywood. It featured present day music stars performing the music of the King of Pop.

The Jackson brothers - Jackie, Tito, Jermaine and Marlon - performed a set of their Jackson 5 hits. For Penpark, the assignment brought a very special opportunity to meet one of his longtime favorite musicians.

"One of the best moment was when my prints got signed my Jermaine Jackson," he said. "He is one of my idols since I used to be a bass player too. I was lucky that I got a call telling me we will have a meeting with Jermaine in the afternoon. I had a chance to talk to him briefly, but he was very nice and didn't act like a star. He is such great person."

Aerosmith's Joe Perry, George Benson, Ne-Yo, Rick Ross and Luis Coronel were among the other performers. Grammy Award winning producer and record executive Vassal Benford conducted the 30-piece orchestra. Los Angeles Lakers legend Magic Johnson hosted the event and Shaquille O'Neal was also among those in attendance.

Penpark was the lead photographer and captured images of all the celebs, while also managing a team of three additional photographers and three videographers. He coordinated and executed the plan for Monster to maximize its coverage of the event, which included a red carpet, VIP area, the main stage and backstage access.

"I prefer having a natural look of these celebrities," Penpark said. "It was easy to ask them to look to the camera and smile, but it was more difficult to capture them in their own moment."

Previously for Monster, Penpark has served as lead photographer for many shoots including those featuring Christina Milian, Shaquille O'Neal and world-renowned gamer Jonathan Wendel (known by his gamertag as Fatal1ty). He also managed a shoot for Real Madrid football star Cristiano Ronaldo.

"Tom is the real deal. Not only is he an incredibly skilled technician at his craft, but he is amazing at concept and creative as well," said Ryan Notch, Monster's former Digital Media Group Manager. "I have been extremely fortunate to have Tom as the rock on my team here at Monster. He is very hardworking, dependable and self-driven. Best of all, Tom is truly a pleasure to be around. His thoughtful and eager-to-help attitude has always made him an integral team player within our department. I can't say enough wonderful things about Tom. I look forward to watching Tom in the years to come as he undoubtedly has a strong and successful career ahead of him."

A commercial and landscape photographic master, Penpark has been the recipient of many illustrious awards, including his selection and publishing as one of the 200 Best Ad Photographers in Lurzer's Archive Magazine for both 2014-15 and 2016-17. He received the coveted Top 50 distinction at the 2015 Sony World Photography Awards, in the Travel category.

Penpark is a member of and judge for the esteemed American Photographic Artists (APA), a national organization and association for professional photographers. In 2012, Penpark was a guest speaker for the APA and Apple San Francisco's Creative Professional series. The speaking engagement featured Penpark covering his award-winning panoramic landscapes and series of Milky Way images.

He's had exhibitions at Google Global Headquarters in Mountain View, Calif., at the Busan International Advertising Conference in South Korea and he is a contributing stock photographer for Getty Images and Blend Images. His photography services have been sought after by a who's who list of global corporations including Adidas, MA Audio, Symantec, Nike, Levi's, Adobe and more than a dozen others.

Penpark's vividly arresting imagery has appeared on the Discovery Channel and Amazon.cn (China's Amazon.com marketplace). His images have published in many prominent media throughout North America, Europe and Asia such as The Huffington Post, The Telegraph (U.K.), the San Francisco Chronicle, Eurotuner Magazine, Top Driver Magazine, Migros-Magazin (Germany), Galleries Lafayette (France), Outdoor Photographer's The American Landscape, Popular Photography Magazine (China) and more.
