Jamaal wrote the first Visual & Performing Arts (VPA) and Common-Core standards-based Emcee/Spoken Word Curriculum in California, which he began implementing in schools, non-profits, and the juvenile justice system in 2004. He uses his path as a performer to collaborate with a unique network of talent through organizations such as Hip Hop Congress
, a 15-year 501c3 nonprofit for which he began serving as Executive Director in 2015.
