The 2015 Jamaican Film Festival winning narrative film Dairy of a Badman will screen at the AMC Empire 25 on April 7th at 7pm. The film will be screened in English. This event is the film's NYC premiere.

Nominated as "best film" by Philadelphia Independent Film Awards, Diemiruaya Deniran's surprisingly emotional film follows a young immigrant detective as she embarks on her first high profile undercover assignment. Suspenseful, violent, and yet tender, Diary of a Badman, is a story of the pursuit of power and the unexpected dimensions of even the most seemingly evil heart. The film captures a love story and the dichotomy of compassion in a storm of violence.

This screening is sponsored by Fly Jamaican Airways. The K8 Production and Deniran Films are screening the film. After-screening discussion with the cast includes Philidelphia Independent Film Awards Best Actress Nominated Jacinth Sutphin, Best Male Actor Nominated Douglas Robbs, Best Supporting Actor Nominated Michael Thor Love, the writer and producer of the film Diemiruaya Deniran.

Diemiruaya Deniran was born and raised in London, England of Nigerian parentage. He now resides in New York City, where he has lived since 1996. This independent filmmaker has been behind the camera and handling audio recording equipment since the age of 10.

Diemiruaya is self-taught in nearly all aspects of his craft as a entertainer and filmmaker. In addition to countless musical projects as a solo artist and featured in collaborative groups, he has written and produced several independent film projects, such as the web series Sexamacation, the movie Kuwsh, the short film, The Transaction, the sci-fi thriller Soul Remover, Reserve Notes and The Diary of a Badman.

Actors and crew that have worked with him on the set have purported him as being "demanding, yet extremely effective". Like any great director, those that have had the pleasure of working with him express his uncanny abilities to bring out the best in his talent as well as depict a masterful interpretation of what he captures on his cameras.

His integrity and work ethic are only outmatched by his creativity, which has been evident since his earliest works when he was just beginning in the entertainment and film industries. He is extremely creative with no ceiling to the heights of his imagination. He dedicates his love for film making to his appreciation for the artwork of world-famous artists Jackson Pollock and Willem de Kooning. Their artwork made him realize that art and filmmaking are both expressions of the soul. He loves making films because he is able to use it as a medium to express himself. It is not enough for him to show people the world as he sees it. He wants people to see their own world anew.
