Wampler's Ascent an Award Winning Documentary Telling a Remarkable Story of Love That Awakens the Potential in All of Us

Camp WAMP, provides life-changing outdoor education opportunities for disabled kids, a population that is other wise left out.

SAN DIEGO, CA, March 30, 2016 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Wampler's Ascent, the multi award-winning documentary follows Steve Wampler as he attempts to become the first person with a disability to climb the biggest rock face in the world, El Captain in Yosemite National Park. It took 20,000 pull-ups, 5 nights and 6 days on the sheer face of a mountain with only the use of one limb, in a story sure to rouse compassion.

During the world premier television broadcast on Easter Sunday, in Wampler's hometown of San Diego, viewers learned the story of a man's commitment to bringing international attention to the funding of a camp for kids with severe disabilities. Steve wanted to show kids with physical challenges, that while it didn't have to be El Cap., they should find and work toward accomplishing challenges that they place upon themselves, and enjoy all that comes from that process.

Wampler is a husband, father... and has a severe form of Cerebral Palsy. In a story sure to rouse compassion, this athlete, who has the complete use of one limb, his right arm, and uses an electric wheelchair to get around, overcomes panic and terror using his steel will, guts and grit to show the power of the human force. This is a story of tenderness, warmth and the love of family that has the toughest among us encouraged by the expanse of human measure and reach.

Wampler's Ascent started out as an adventure movie to bring awareness and funding to a summer camp for kids with disabilities. While that mission was fulfilled, the documentary actually takes the viewer deep into a remarkable love story that awakens the potential in all of us, as well as awareness for The Wampler Foundation.

The Wampler Foundation makes the high Sierra's accessible to all disabled kids, opening a new facility in 2017 with the support of a nation. The camp welcomes groups throughout the world to attend. Kids with disabilities will experience the great outdoors with accessibility to the three acre lake an 96 ares of remote, rugged wilderness. All kids will be able to fish, swim, singing songs, sleep under the stars and learn about their natural surroundings while in a safe, nurturing environment.
