JOGGO Announces Company Goal to Send 50 Refugee Children to School in the Next 3 years

Local company reinforces commitment to refugee education in honour of 'World Refugee Day' by partnering with CARE Canada to help support growing initiatives.

"There is a significant funding gap and through this initiative we are doing our part in helping reduce this gap"

TORONTO, ON, June 13, 2016 /24-7PressRelease/ -- As World Refugee Day draws closer (June 20th), JOGGO has decided to reinforce their commitment to refugee education by announcing their goal of funding a year's education for 50 refugee children in the next three years. The company, whose name stands for "Journey to Greater Good" has partnered with CARE Canada and will be working with the leading international humanitarian organization by supporting refugee education initiatives with the poorest communities in 90 countries. "Educating refugee children is important because it empowers them to rebuild their lives and communities. CARE works with parents and children to ensure girls and boys can go back to school and have a chance to move forward despite tragedy. Parents continue to mention education as a top priority for kids even in crisis," says Kevin Dunbar Director of CARE Canada's Humanitarian Assistance and Emergency Team.

"The biggest barrier to refugee education is funding," explains JOGGO Founder, Mohamed Al Lawati. "It's estimated that only 2% of humanitarian budget is allocated to education in emergencies- there is a significant funding gap and through this initiative we are doing our part in helping reduce this gap."

For the company to achieve their goal, they must sell 900 bags during this three-year period. The bags will not only support refugee education, but through their ethical manufacturing process, will also continue to add value to their producers. "The response on the bags has been great, we are confident we will be able to meet this goal, our designs are unique and offer an eccentric style."

The company has adopted a business model that is sustainable and inclusive-fully aligning to support the Sustainable Development Goals. Al Lawati adds, "We want people to know that not only are our bags exceptionally durable, stylish, and made with convenience in mind, but also that their purchase truly makes a difference. It's our belief that education is a basic right and is the key to ensuring a better life for children, their families, and their communities as well."
