LOS ANGELES, CA, July 28, 2016 /24-7PressRelease/ -- From the San Francisco hills, Leah Smithson is a new age painter and mixed media artist whose ready to make her mark in the industry. Often her style described as dreamlike and thematic. Smithson has officially launched her online store, Talon and The Suneaters which features her latest in fine, handcrafted jewelry and accessories.

Pieces from Talon and the Suneaters are inspired by Smithson's many artistic visions. Made of porcelain, each item is then carefully sculpted into an art piece which is then assembled into jewelry. To check out the wide variety of beautiful items in her shop visit: talonandthesuneaters.com

Unlike any other Bay area artists, her ability to bring images to life, and her layering technique creates a texture of its own. It's all a paramount to her gift of storytelling through fine art. These qualities can be witnessed in 'Disturbing Algorithm' - an acrylic and digital piece masterfully crafted by Smithson.

In 2014, Smithson was featured on Kickstarter's website. She launched a line of wearable art, 'The Ishan Project'. It is a collection of handpainted silk scarves that hoped to restore knowledge of a forgotten race or species. She painted stories about the Ishan on each garment for 365 days (spanning from 2013-2014) and created a visual anthropological documentary. As a collective, each piece has a consistent palette that gives the sensibility of their atmospheric celestial nature, illustrating the sky and the heavens -- which is a critical part of telling the mysterious story and history.

Smithson has shown in Miami at Scope Miami Art Basel. Her work was featured on CBS' 'Good Day Sacramento and hung next to the likes of Shephard Fairey, Jeremy Fish, Sugarlax and more. When she's not showing in Paris or hosting a solo exhibit, she is honing her unique talents and skills. Leah Smithson is available for interviews and commissioned work.

About Talon and The Suneaters

Each couture jewelry porcelain piece began as seeds of inspiration from original paintings by Leah Smithson. After a few sketches, a clay sculpture is developed as a model for future pieces to spring from. Each flower is delicately sculpted by hand, petal by petal to be translucent enough to carry the rays of the sun as it drapes around your body. Ultimately, all sculpted art pieces are carefully assembled into jewelry at our San Francisco Bay area studio by artists that hold to a strong work ethic of quality design and craftsmanship.
