The Full Body Experience

National Curves Day, Inc.

WASHINGTON, DC, September 21, 2016 /24-7PressRelease/ -- "WITH THESE CURVES....Embrace. Encourage. Empower." is what women will be chanting throughout the Washington Metropolitan Area beginning October 11th as National Curves Day kick off its second annual celebration. The objective is to continue to bring awareness to the importance of body positivity, through empowering women of all sizes, shapes, and ethnicities to love the skin they're in and love who they see in the mirror.

As of October 3rd 2015, National Curves Day is a mandated by proclamation day to celebrate the curvy/plus community signed by the Governor of Maryland, Lawrence "Larry" Hogan Jr., Lt. Governor, and Secretary of State. The success globally has been overwhelming, with support from industry professionals such as Fashion PR Maven Kelly Cutrone, People's Revolution, SimplyBe, Fashion to Figure and a host of others has been a tremendous blessing.

This year's celebration will be action packed and affirming, #WithTheseCurves affirmations, fashion, fitness, and fun. October 15th 2016 closes out the celebration with a fundraiser event, NCD's Honors and Fashion Show at Joe's Movement Emporium in Mt. Rainier, MD. This fundraiser fashion show is to fund the Non-profit organization as it gives back to the community: cleaning the road on Alt. Route. 1 in MD (soon to be revealed), funding its new program Secret's for Girlz (ages 13-19), donating needed items to partner charities and empowering the curvy/plus community.

National Curves Day culminated as a body positive movement, birth out of the body image struggles of its Founder, joining other plus positive campaigns that took the fashion world by storm during New York Fashion Week Fall 2015 with #nationalcurvesday and #curvyrevolution. In its own right, National Curves Day has made a significant impact in the curvy/plus community across the globe from Italy, France, London UK, Puerto Rico, and of course the USA; women wore red on October 14th 2015 and posted with the campaign's hashtag.
