Dr. Yenpo Ho Recognized by Marquis Who's Who for Excellence in Technology Engineering

Dr. Ho has quickly established himself as a prominent leader in the field of Smart Grid Energy System and Neuromorphic Computation

As of today, his publications have more than 200 citations.

COLLEGE STATION, TX, September 21, 2016 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Dr. Yenpo Ho has been included in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

Since establishing his career in 2006, Dr. Ho has proved himself a reliable professional and expert researcher in the field of power system operations and control. Formerly a research assistant for the Texas A&M Engineering Experiment Station, he now acts as a postdoctoral researcher for the program, which exists in partnership with industry and institutions across the state not only to promote the development of power system smart grid/renewable energy but also to solve engineering problems in neuromorphic (self-learning intelligent) applications. "Applied engineering research and development is a vital part of the organization," Dr. Ho says, adding that his work with the university has led him in achieving recognition by the IEEE. A regular contributor to professional publications and chapters to books, he was honored this year by Who's Who in America in its 70th edition.

To support his career, Dr. Ho earned a Bachelor of Science in electrical engineering from the University of Arizona. Thereafter, he obtained a Master of Science in electrical engineering and a Ph.D., in 2008 and 2014, respectively. He was invited to present his research at IBM Research Lab and Sandia National Laboratory. In addition, he has been serving IEEE and ACM transactions and conferences peer-review activities, including IEEE Transactions on Circuits and Systems-I Regular Paper (IEEE TCAS-I) and Express Briefs (IEEE TCAS-II), IEEE Transactions on Neural Networks and Learning System (IEEE TNNL), IEEE Int. Sym. on Circuit and Systems (IEEE ISCAS), and ACM Transactions on Embedded Computing Systems (ACM TECS). As of today, his publications have more than 200 citations.

Aside from his work with Texas A&M University, Dr. Ho is active in the community through civic work. He was a volunteer food distributor for the Food Bank at Brazos College Station County, served as vice president of the Chinese Christian Fellowship at TAMU College Station and acted as a website developer for the Taiwan Student Association at the University of Arizona. Furthermore, he was tutoring for undergraduates on Math/Engineering subjects for Tau Beta Pi (TBP) and Eta Kappa Nu (HKN) Honor Societies. Looking to the future, Dr. Ho intends to continue working in the field and adding value to significant projects led by the Texas A&M Engineering Experiment Station.
