Bishop Paprocki worked his way up to become a renowned religious leader

SPRINGFIELD, IL, October 20, 2016 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Bishop Thomas Paprocki has been included in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

For the past 38 years, Bishop Paprocki has served his community as a religious leader. His career began at St. Michael Church in Chicago, where he served as an associate pastor from 1978 to 1983. During his time there, he recognized a need for accessible legal services, as many of the people he served were financially compromised. Thus, Bishop Paprocki co-founded the South Chicago Legal Clinic, which he is still involved with today. In 1983, he left St. Michael to take on the role of administrator of St. Joseph Church, also in Chicago, and in 1986, he was promoted to vice-chancellor of the Archdiocese of Chicago. Bishop Paprocki was promoted again in 1992, this time to chancellor of the Archdiocese of Chicago, a position he held until 2001, when he joined St. Constance Parish as a pastor. He became ordained as a bishop in 2003, served as an auxiliary bishop in the Archdiocese of Chicago until 2010, and then assumed his current role as a bishop within the Diocese of Springfield.

Over the years, Bishop Paprocki has gained invaluable experience, elements of which he published in a variety of professional journals. He was also a member of the editorial advisory board of the Chicago Catholic Newspaper from 1984 to 1985, and an adjunct faculty member at Loyola University Law School. He joined the adjunct faculty at Notre Dame Law School in 2016.

Bishop Paprocki prepared for his professional endeavors by earning a Bachelor of Arts from Loyola University, Chicago, in 1974, a Master of Divinity from St. Mary of the Lake Seminary in 1978, a licentiate in sacred theology from St. Mary of the Lake Seminary in 1979, a JD from DePaul University in 1981, a Doctor of Canon Law from Gregorian University in 1991, and an MBA from the University of Notre Dame in 2013. He also completed language studies in Spanish, Italian and Polish, and was admitted to practice law in Illinois and before the U.S. Supreme Court.

In recognition of his achievements, Bishop Paprocki was featured in 17 volumes of Who's Who in America between 1997 and 2016, and 13 editions of Who's Who in American Law between 1987 and 2011. He was also honored with inclusion in multiple editions of Who's Who of Emerging Leaders in America, Who's Who in the World, and Who's Who in the Midwest, as well as in one edition each of Who's Who in Religion and Who's Who in Finance and Industry. Further, Bishop Paprocki was the recipient of the 1997 Humanitarian Award from the Polish American Congress, and the 2001 Alumni Award for Outstanding Public Service from DePaul College of Law.
