Angela C. Howell and Friends Ring in the Holidays With New Christmas Album

A project that was years in the making, "An Original Christmas" is more than just a musical soundtrack of holiday cheer. Most of the originals were created over a 16-year period in which Howell wrote and composed new material for the annual Central Village Congregational Church (CVCC) Coffeehouse Benefit Concert Series. One of the most recognized holiday events in New England, Howell would later assemble the concert material to create a full-length release.

"An Original Christmas" serves as a platform for Angela C. Howell to showcase area musicians and those whom she has collaborated with over the years. Masterfully recorded a short distance from CVCC at Black Hill Studios in Plainfield, the late Grammy Award-Winning Engineer Michael Hopkins worked tirelessly to mix and record 7 of the album's 11 tracks.

One of the most favorite songs from the album, "Snap Me a Selfie, Santa" has been well received and viewed over 115,000 times on Youtube. Co-written by Howell and Bob McDonald, who was her professor and mentor at the University of Connecticut where she received an MFA in acting, "Snap Me a Selfie, Santa" was completed with major contributions from recording engineers Dave Darlington, John Kilgore, and Danny Madden.

Angela C. Howell is an actress and singer-songwriter who has sung all over the United States and most of Europe, performing as a vocalist with many varied groups. One of her most notable performances was singing for all of Ryo Kawasaki's live New York jazz shows for the Grammy-nominated Love Within the Universe. As a Musical Director, Angela has worked everywhere from the Yale Summer Series (for gifted youth), the Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts (during their stay in NYC), Westchester Broadway Dinner Theatre (on multiple productions) to North Carolina Theatre (Broadway World nomination) and Circle in the Square Theatre School.
