Matt McKee is Bringing Sweet Blasts! to ART100 Boston, The 3rd Annual Affordable Original Art Exhibition

    BOSTON, MA, November 03, 2016 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Matt McKee joins ART 100 BOSTON 2016 for its third annual art exhibition featuring over 60 participating artists and more than 450 original works of art, each priced at one hundred dollars, from December 2-17, 2016 at the Piano Craft Gallery. The exhibition will include select pieces from Matt McKee's signature Sweet Blasts! series at a special, limited time, collectors' price. The exhibition commences with a reception on Friday, December 2 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.

The images in the Sweet Blasts! series have been praised by foodies and the global green food movement. Each image combines the high explosive potential of a hand grenade fuse with the basic food staples of our diet to illustrate humanity's interference with nature. From processed fruits and foods to industrialized meat and fish, each image features hyper-idealized subjects with obsessive commercial perfection, "punctured by Man's ability to blow it all up," says Matt McKee.

"ART 100 was established to create a fun and accessible tradition of collecting art while also creating a contemporary artist community," says Pares Mallis, founder, curator and organizer of ART 100 Boston. "By pricing each work at 100 dollars, collectors feel the empowerment of purchasing original art and being an art market player."

The ART 100 BOSTON exhibition will be open Tuesday-Friday, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday 12:00 pm - 5:00 pm and by appointment at the Piano Craft Gallery, a historical Boston landmark which offers thought-provoking and engaging exhibition. ART 100 BOSTON is open to the public. There is no admission fee.
