Raymond Hunkins Recognized as an AV Preeminent Attorney

    CHEYENNE, WY, November 15, 2016 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Raymond Hunkins has been included in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Widely regarded for his skill in the legal arena, Mr. Hunkins began his career upon receiving a Bachelor of Arts and JD from the University of Wyoming. He joined Jones, Jones Vines & Hunkins as partner in 1968 and remained with the firm until 2010. During this time, he also maintained involvement with a wide range of legal organizations, including the American College of Trial Lawyers, through which he served as Wyoming state chairman from 1998 to 2000 and as a member of the national ethics committee from 2000 to 2004. For more than 20 years, Mr. Hunkins was also a member of the local rules committee for the U.S. District Court.

Since 2010, Mr. Hunkins has served as an attorney with Hunkins Newton Law. An AV Preeminent Attorney, he is admitted to practice in Wyoming, as well as before the United States Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit and the Supreme Court of the United States. In addition, he is a member of the American Board of Trial Advocates and the International Society of Barristers. In recognition of his commitment to legal excellence, Mr. Hunkins received the Wyoming State Bar Leadership Award in 2008, as well as the U.S. District Court Special Service Award in 2012. He has been featured in a wide variety of honors publications, including Who's Who in Finance and Industry, Who's Who in America, Who's Who in American Law, Who's Who in the West and Who's Who in the World.

Outside of his legal career, Mr. Hunkins takes pride in being actively involved in his community. He served as a delegate to the Republican National Convention in New York in 2004 and Cleveland in 2016. He was a Republican candidate for the office of governor of Wyoming in 2002 and The Republican Nominee for Governor in 2006. Prior to pursuing a legal career, he served with the U.S. Marine Corps Reserves from 1956 to 1962, serving a portion of that time on active duty.
