Main Street Business Capital Employees Get Involved with Orange County's Best Day Foundation

COSTA MESA, CA, November 18, 2016 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Employees from Main Street Business Capital, a leader in small business lending, volunteered to be part of a recent surf day event for children with special needs.

Run by the Best Day Foundation, the beach day took place on Saturday, October 8 in Seal Beach, California and was the final event of the year for the organization's Orange County chapter. Over 100 volunteers came together to make the surf and water sports event the "best day" for 40 children with special needs.

The Best Day Foundation's goal is to help those with special needs build confidence, experience new things and connect with others. Inviting children with a range of special needs that include blindness, cerebral palsy, down syndrome, cancer, autism and more, the organization hosts many events at their local chapters to help these children have the "best day".

To make sure these events run smoothly, the foundation enlists volunteers to set up and help run the chapters. Fortunately, the organization's Orange County chapter has Main Street Business Capital's Senior Vice President, Chris Martin, as an acting co-chairman and participant coordinator.

Martin, who has been involved with the organization since April 2011, helps secure permits, schedules the day's activities and makes sure everything runs smoothly on the day of the event. While it takes dedication to execute the event properly, Martin said that he absolutely loves his role with the non-profit and the smiles on the kids' faces makes it all worthwhile.

"It's an amazing experience to be involved with such a fantastic organization. It's great to know that the work I do in and outside of the office is so rewarding," said Martin.

But Martin is not the only Main Street Business Capital employee who dedicates their time to this organization. Several other Main Street Business Capital employees volunteer to help set up and partake in the event itself, including Main Street Business Capital President, Beckham Thomas.

"To have other MSBC team members support an organization that means so much to me is such a wonderful feeling," said Martin. "Seeing them cheering on these great kids really makes me realize what a great staff we have here at Main Street Business Capital."
