KIRKFIELD, ON, November 23, 2016 /24-7PressRelease/ -- John Stephen Thompson, Fiction Writer for Thompson Books, has been recognized for showing dedication, leadership and excellence in writing.

Worldwide Branding is proud to endorse the recent, notable professional efforts and accomplishments of John Stephen Thompson. A member in good standing, John Stephen Thompson parlays 45 years of experience into his professional network, and has been noted for achievements, leadership abilities, and the credentials they have provided in association with their Worldwide Branding membership.

John Stephen Thompson became involved in writing after retiring from a microbiology career, during which he had more than 40 scientific papers published. He then traveled with his wife to Kosova, where he felt a direct connection and was inspired to write his first novel, "The Aftermath." He also re-published his father's brief World War II memoir, "Bomber Crew," in 2005, following his father's passing in 2003. As a fiction writer for Thompson Books, Mr. Thompson feels that he was not necessarily driven to write from birth, but he came from a background of reading and writing that encouraged him to do so. His father, who was a newspaper editor and a voracious reader of crime and spy fiction, and his grandfather, who was a magazine editor, were particularly strong influences in this regard.

Mr. Thompson earned a graduate degree in microbiology from the University of Toronto in 1971 and most of his microbiology career was served with the Public Health Laboratories of Ontario in Toronto, Timmins and Peterborough, Ontario. He retired as the director of the Peterborough Public Health Laboratory in 1999 and his writing was confined to the three dozen or so scientific papers that he had published in peer-reviewed scientific journals. A member of the Canadian Authors Association, he attributes his successful career to his use of practical science. Looking ahead, Mr. Thompson plans to enjoy retirement and continue publishing books, the next of which he hopes to release within 10 months.

Worldwide Branding has added John Stephen Thompson to their distinguished Registry of Executives, Professionals and Entrepreneurs. While inclusion in Worldwide Branding is an honor, only small selections of members in each discipline are endorsed and promoted as leaders in their professional fields.
