Dr. Andrzej Adamowicz Commended for Accomplishments in Military and Governmental Work

Dr. Adamowicz is proud to have served, represented and defended Poland for more than four decades



He is the recipient of the Knight's Cross of Polonia Restituta, the Golden Cross of Merit, and the Silver Cross of Merit, and other military and veteran medals.

    WYGLEDY, POLAND, December 15, 2016 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Dr. Andrzej Adamowicz has been included in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

Patriotism has been the guiding hand of Dr. Adamowicz's 40 year career as a Polish military officer and governmental official. Since first being appointed as an officer cadet in 1971, he has spent his life utilizing his mechanical and technical expertise for the greater good: Poland's defense and representation. After four years as an officer cadet, Dr. Adamowicz became a commissioned second lieutenant in the Polish Air and Air Defense Force. He earned a Master of Science in mechanics (construction of aircraft and air engines) from the Military University of Technology in Warsaw a year later and a Ph.D. in control theory in 1982. When preparing his doctor thesis, he was involved in the development of the arms control systems of the newly developed Polish jet trainer aircraft I-22 Iryda and actively participated in the number of conferences on control theory.

Dr. Adamowicz held an abundance of senior positions within the government over the next 30 years: he worked as a research worker at the Air Force Technical Institute and member of Board of Inquiry of MoD investigating air accidents, was the head of the logistics and operations section of the Polish Military Contingent in the United Nations Transition Assistance Group in Namibia, was the senior inspector and the senior officer of the Military Department of Foreign Affairs in MoD, and was the defense advisor for the Polish Mission to the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE) in Vienna engaged in development of the Open Skies Treaty, Vienna Document 1994, Adaptation of the Treaty of Conventional Forces in Europe, and working as an expert for the preparation of the OSCE Peacekeeping Mission to Nagorno Karabakh and for Open Skies Consultative Commission. Further, he became a colonel in the Polish Air Force, the chief of secretariat to the Secretary of State-1st Deputy MoD and later the Undersecretary of State for Defense Co-operation and Integration with NATO for the Polish Ministry of Defense, branch chief in the General Operational Division J-3 for the Polish General Staff, senior national representative at USCENTCOM at Tampa, Florida, serving in support of operations Enduring Freedom and Iraqi Freedom, land operations branch chief at the Operations Division J-3 in NATO Joint Forces Command at Brunssum in the Netherlands, and Subject Matter Expert at the Security Policy Department in Ministry of Foreign Affairs working in support of ISAF mission in Afghanistan and UN peacekeeping operations.

Outside of his career, Dr. Adamowicz pursued a number of industry-related positions in his free time, including being an international expert forecasting for the IARPA Aggregative Contingent Estimation (ACE) Program, and aerospace and defence industry consultant for the 10EQS, a global consulting company based in New York. With such a wealth of knowledge and expertise, he contributed numerous articles to professional publications as well. Dr. Adamowicz is also an active member of the Polish Veterans Association Serving Abroad, member of the Soldiers of Peace International Association A.I.S.P./S.P.I.A. based in Lyon, France, and representative for Poland for the NATO Memorial at Frethun, France.

In addition to being included in the 19th through 25th and the 28th through 33rd editions of Who's Who in the World. Dr. Adamowicz is the recipient of the Knight's Cross of Polonia Restituta, the Golden Cross of Merit, and the Silver Cross of Merit, and other military and veteran medals. He considers one of his greatest achievements, however, to be his service for international peace and fight against terrorism.
