Jerusalem Invites the World to Visit During this Holiday Season with a Hashtag

JERUSALEM, ISRAEL, December 23, 2016 /24-7PressRelease/ -- During this joyous holiday season, Jerusalem - a city holy to all those of faith - is preparing itself for the influx of tourists that are visiting to enjoy in the seasonal festivities. As the city embraces all visitors, Jerusalem is also embarking on a unique campaign this year to enable the global community to visit the city, albeit virtually.

Especially this year, when Hanukkah and Christmas overlap, it's an optimal opportunity to highlight the cultural diversity and unique tapestry of faiths that reside in Jerusalem.

With a simple hashtag, #hanukkahjlm, Jerusalem is opening the doors of the city to the entire world. As the world celebrates the holidays, social media channels will be flooded with pictures. Now, by adding the #hanukkahjlm (on Facebook, Instagram or Twitter) these pictures will reach Jerusalem. These images will be screened on two massive displays in downtown Jerusalem. Besides the display, the entire feed will be available on a live feed on Facebook (@itraveljerusalem.global) and available for viewers on a dedicated site on www.itraveljerusalem.com.

Beginning with Saturday night, December 24th through Sunday, January 1 an impressive visual display will be placed in downtown Jerusalem. With a simple hashtag, every person in the world can submit their picture and spread their holiday joy with Jerusalem.

This project is a collaborative effort by The Israel Ministry of Tourism, The Jerusalem Development Authority, ItravelJerusalem, and The Ariel Company.
