Jens Leo Astrup Celebrates 35 Years in Civil Engineering

Although he is now retired, Mr. Astrup continued to serve as a trustee of Family Grain Farm and Farmland



He is a former state secretary of the American Public Works Association of North Dakota.

    FORT WORTH, TX, January 16, 2017 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Jens Leo Astrup, Dad, Grandpa, General Civil Engineer, MBA, Farm Trustee, Investor, Christian, Computer Enthusiast, has been included in Marquis Who's Who. Widely regarded for his skill in the area of civil engineering, Mr. Astrup began a scientific career upon graduating from North Dakota State University with a Bachelor of Science in 1956. Since then, he has become a Registered Professional Engineer in Illinois, as well as a patent agent. In the early years of his career, Mr. Astrup held engineering positions with a wide range of Chicago-based companies, including Harza Engineering Company, Bauer Engineering, Inc., Brown and Root, Inc. and Lester B. Knight & Associates. During this time, he also attended Keller Graduate School of Management, where he received an MBA in 1983. Most recently, Mr. Astrup served as a senior civil engineer with Clark Dietz, Inc. from 1993 to 1994.

Mr. Astrup has been featured in a wide range of honors publications, including Who's Who in America, Who's Who in Finance and Business, Who's Who in the Midwest, Who's Who in the South and Southwest, and Who's Who in the World. In addition, he was selected for inclusion in the 1st, 8th, 9th, 10th, 11th and 12th editions of Who's Who in Science and Engineering.

Outside of his role as a civil engineer, Mr. Astrup was recently a trustee of Family Grain Farm and Farmland. He has also been associated with the North Texas PC Users Group since 2005. While attending the Luther Bible Institute, Mr. Astrup was recognized as the president of the student body. He is a former state secretary of the American Public Works Association of North Dakota, as well as the former state vice president, chairman of the state activities committee and chapter president of the Illinois Society of Professional Engineers. He is a member of Methodist Church.
