William Wray Eckl Recognized by Marquis Who's Who for Excellence in Law

    ATLANTA, GA, March 01, 2017 /24-7PressRelease/ -- William Wray Eckl has been included in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

A native of Florence, Alabama, Mr. Eckl celebrates a 50-year career that focused on products liability, insurance coverage claims, catastrophic bodily injury and death lawsuits, and defended tort claims against many different religious denominations. Over the course of his career, he defended over 1,500 lawsuits in Georgia, Alabama, Arkansas, South Carolina, Mississippi, Kentucky, Ohio, Virginia, West Virginia, and Louisiana. He is highly experienced in civil tort litigation for insureds and self-insured, including both primary and excess coverage.

Now retired, he concluded his career as a partner of the law firm of Drew, Eckl, Farnham in Atlanta, GA. Before that, he was a partner of the law firm of Swift, Currie, McGhee & Hiers from 1968 to 1983 and Gambrell, Harlan, Russell & Moye from 1965 to 1968. In 1962, he clerked for the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of Alabama. He was admitted by examination to practice in Georgia in 1964, Virginia in 1962, and Alabama in 1962. From 1962 to 1965, Mr. Eckl served to Captain in the United States Army Judge Advocate General Corp and was awarded the Army Commendation medal.

Mr. Eckl attended Coffee High School and the University of Vienna in Austria for his junior year while attending the University of Notre Dame, where he graduated cum laude in 1959. He then attended the University of Virginia School of Law, graduating in 1962.
Over the years, Mr. Eckl gave lectures at seminars sponsored by the American Bar Association, Defense Research Association, Georgia Legal Continuing Education, Lorman Business Center, Inc and others. He is a past member of the American Board of Trial Advocates, Trial Attorneys of America, Defense Research Institute, Super Lawyers List of Georgia, and other related legal associations.

In recognition of his professional excellence in his career, Mr. Eckl was selected for inclusion in Who's Who in Finance and Industry, Who's Who in America, Who's Who in American Law, Who's Who in the South and Southwest, and Who's Who in the World.
