The International Parkinson and Movement Disorder Society (MDS) Sets 2017 Goals with CourseStage LMS

MDS in 2017 aims to foster communication and collaboration among healthcare professionals and scientists to continue to innovate new techniques and research for helping those with movement disorders, CourseStage LMS supports this initiative.

MADISON, WI, March 17, 2017 /24-7PressRelease/ -- The International Parkinson and Movement Disorder Society (MDS) is a professional medical society made up of physicians, scientists, and other healthcare professionals who are interested in Parkinson's disease, movement disorder and abnormalities in motor control and muscle tone.

MDS partnered with Web Courseworks to use their Learning Management System (LMS), CourseStage, for their association's eLearning and continuing medical education needs. MDS also utilizes CourseStage's BoxOffice as an eCommerce platform to market and sell their CME materials for their learners to earn CME credits. CourseStage and MDS went live in 2016.

Moving to CourseStage LMS was a key decision for MDS to aid with their outreach to physicians to provide access to MDS's deep, content pool of education and research materials. This content is critical to advance the research and education of Parkinson's and movement disorders, and is now available to a wider audience with the Learning Management System in place.

One of MDS's goals for 2017 is to grow their online course offering, as well as expand their blended learning courses. This is part of their larger mission to increase engagement of their members, which will hopefully lead to stronger connections and communications between members who research and work with movement disorders. By offering live courses, MDS hopes to have the attendees connect and reach out to one another, in order to continue to foster collaboration and sharing of ideas and solutions in their field of work. Currently, MDS offers 67 online courses, and plans to add an additional 8 courses early 2017. 50 live, synchronous courses are also set to launch in 2017, and will take place all over the world. The continuation of educating and connecting MDS physicians, scientists, and other healthcare professionals, will grow a network of individuals who can collaborate to improve the treatment and care of patients with Parkinson's and movement disorders.
