Prior to obtaining his professional position, he earned a Bachelor of Science in accounting from California State University, Long Beach. After graduating, he became a financial analyst for the aeronautic division of Philco-Ford Corp. Subsequently, he worked as a senior accounting analyst for California Computer Products until he earned an MBA from his alma mater. That propelled Mr. Sewright to transfer to the McGaw Laboratories division of the American Hospital Supply Corporation. In the many years since then, he has taken on such roles as vice president and controller of EZ Painter Corp, president and chief executive officer of Marine Midland Mortgage Corp and Anchor Mortgage Services, Inc., executive vice president and COO of Avondale Federal Savings Bank, and president and CEO of Avondale Funding.com.
In order to keep abreast of changes in the field, Mr. Sewright affiliates himself with the Institute of Management Accountants, the Institute of Certified Management Accountants and the Mortgage Bankers Association of America. Throughout his career, he has won many awards for his work, including being named a Distinguished Alumnus through the College of Business Administration at California State University, Long Beach, and being included in Who's Who in Finance and Business, Who's Who in America and Who's Who in the South and Southwest.
