Local Door Systems Technicians Earn National Certification For Automated, Overhead And Fire Door Systems

IDEA Rolling Steel Fire Door Technician Certification is available to individuals who can document training, and demonstrate a high degree of knowledge and expertise in the installation and service of rolling steel fire door systems. In addition to proving field experience in the drop testing of the products, candidates must pass a comprehensive written examination covering all aspects of fire doors, fusible links, drop testing and fire-related standards that apply to these systems.

The program was created by IDEA in 2003 to promote safety, product quality, and facility security, among door and access systems technicians.

Door and access systems dealers are companies that sell, install and service a wide range of automated door and access systems, which typically include residential garage doors, commercial doors, rolling steel doors, fire doors and retail grilles.
