During his career, Mr. Cox held noteworthy roles including sociology instructor at Wheaton College, associate at Case & Co., and associate at Spencer Stewart & Associates, one of the world's premier executive search firms. Cox was also the chairman of the board for the Center for Ethics and Corporate Policy. Concurrently in the mid-1990s, Mr. Cox was chief executive officer and chairman of the board for American Amateur Baseball, Inc. (AABI).
Due to his excellent reputation and impactful work over the years, Cox has been recognized in Who's Who in Finance and Industry, Who's Who in America, and Who's Who in the Midwest. To prepare for his career, Mr. Cox attended Northern Illinois University, where he achieved a Bachelor of Arts in 1961 and a Master of Arts degree in 1962. Thereafter, he completed postgraduate coursework at the Alfred Adler Institute of Chicago and McCormick Theological Seminary. Highly regarded for his depth of knowledge, Mr. Cox was asked to serve as a visiting committee member for the University of Chicago Divinity School, member of the San Diego Regional Economic Development Corporation, and adjunct staff member for the Center for Creative Leadership in Greensboro, North Carolina.
At the invitation of the late Vaclav Havel, Cox was a delegate for FORUM 2000 in October 2006, held in Prague, Czech Republic. The conference theme was Dilemma of Global Existence. Cox was a plenary panelist in the opening program. He was also a panelist in a later program on corporate global social responsibility chaired by Ms. Kim Campbell, former Prime Minister of Canada.
To share his expertise, Cox has published 11 books including "Your Place at the Table," "The CEO in You," "Inside Corporate America," "The making of the Achiever," "Whoa! Are They Glad You're in Their Lives?," "Change the Way You Face the Day," and "When the Sun Shines Through." Most recently, he co-authored "Corporate Style of Life: An Adlerian Conceptualization told in a Personal Account," with Dr. Eva Dreikurs Ferguson, which appeared in The Journal of Individual Psychology (Winter 2016). For years, he wrote a weekly column, "The Achiever," for the Los Angeles Times Syndicate.
