Braidy Industries Building Aluminum Rolling Mill in Northeast Kentucky, Investing $1.3 Billion and Creating 550 Jobs

A significant investment into the future of the U.S. economy and the Appalachian region.

NORTHEAST, KY, May 15, 2017 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Braidy Industries, Inc. is a U.S. aluminum firm with big plans. They have recently announced that they will be making a $1.3 billion investment into a new, state-of-the-art rolling mill in Northeast Kentucky. This will be the first new aluminum mill built in the United States in 30 years, representing a significant investment into the future of the U.S. economy and the Appalachian region.

During an interview of Fox News, Braidy Industries Chairman and CEO Craig Bouchard said, "We are on the cusp of a boom and by the way... Appalachia is going to lead that boom. It's the best place to go and we are spending 1.3 billion dollars to prove our point there."

Once operational, the mill will have the capacity to produce 370,000 metric tons of aluminum, per year, for the automotive and aerospace industries. For an additional competitive advantage, the company will be leveraging new nano-crystaline technology to improve molten metal-based manufacturing. The facility itself will be roughly 2.5-million-squre feet with room for expansion. Seated on a 370-acre site, it will be conveniently located near rail, barge, and road transportation routes.

Northeast Kentucky is ideally situated, being less than eight hours from 50 percent of the U.S. population and 60 percent of the manufacturing plants in the United States. This creates a significant advantage for Braidy Industries ability to service both the automotive and aerospace sectors with high-quality U.S. aluminum.

Northeast Kentucky is poised for an economic boom. Braidy Industries has discovered the benefits of locating there. Geographic convenience along with a low cost of doing business, makes this region an ideal destination for both light and heavy manufacturing companies. With some of the lowest power rates in the country and a surplus of cheap water, manufacturing businesses can save significantly by locating in Northeast Kentucky.

"There is significant momentum in Appalachia and we believe that Braidy Industries is just the start of an economic boom in this region. With a skilled workforce ready to work, businesses can easily locate here and be operational within weeks or months. This is an affordable place to do business and Ashland Alliance is here to help companies looking to locate in the region." Tim Gibbs, President and CEO of Ashland Alliance.
