A Father's Day Story to Remember

Dying Father Pens a "Life Manual" for his 6-year-old Daughter

Even though he and Abigail were living in the same house, Seeber says, they "might as well have been separated by an ocean."

NEW YORK, NY, May 16, 2017 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Robert Seeber was fighting such a severe battle with alcohol, he was certain he would die and his daughter, Abigail, would grow up without a father.

As such, he penned 'Abigail's Psalms' to help her navigate through life. It is a tool of inspiration and guidance for Abigail as she continues along the road of her life's journey. It is a compendium of thoughts, advice and life lessons to aid her in her growth and life skills - unique and totally inspiring.

The Wisconsin-based author analyzes his own 40 years of life, his struggles, temptations and failures, and advises his daughter how to experience the best in life and get through the "nasty stuff." Abigail was only six years old and still innocent of so much, but Seeber was getting things straight in his own mind and heart, so that as Abigail grows, his father's role would be fulfilled. It is a touching look at how every responsible parent should guide a child on the right path, while still trying to find their own way.

Even though he and Abigail were living in the same house, he says, they "might as well have been separated by an ocean" for all the time he was spending with her. Seeber says he began writing to his daughter because at that point his depression and alcoholism had gotten so severe, he didn't think he would be on this planet much longer. "This sounds crazy now, but suicide was sounding a little more realistic every day."

Fortunately Seeber overcame his demons and is raising his daughter, coaching her through life himself. "'Abigail's Psalms' was born out of some of the worst things in my life. It was given to one of the best things in my life," he says. The book ended up being not only a guide book for her, but a bit of healing for him.

Father and daughter now spend plenty of quality time together which is chronicled in his blog.

The book is available in both hard cover and e-version on his website.
