Sandy Daley Celebrates 50 Years of Commitment to Artistic Excellence

    NEW YORK, NY, May 16, 2017 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Sandy Daley has been included in Marquis Who's Who. A retired artist, filmmaker and photographer, Sandy Daley began her career upon graduating from Oberlin College with a Bachelor of Arts, cum laude, in 1961. She went on to attend California College of Arts and Crafts, where she received a Master of Fine Arts, with high distinction, in 1965. While still attending school, Ms. Daley served as a co-editor of Contemporary Photographer Magazine. Her creative works have been featured in shows alongside well-known names in the art world, such as Andy Warhol, Roy Lichtenstein, Nicholas Quennell, Mark Rothko and Robert Rauschenberg.

Since entering the film industry, Ms. Daley has been credited with involvement on numerous films, including "London Mysteries," with director Sally Potter, released in 1964, "Robert Having his Nipple Pierced," with Robert Mapplethorpe and Patti Smith, released in 1970, and "Patty Having her Knee Tattooed" with Patti Smith, Sam Shepard and Vali, released in 1971. In addition, she was credited as the director and producer of a live mixed media performance, "Cine Probe," shown at the Museum of Modern Art in New York City in 1971. She is widely recognized for the photo album, "Backstage with the Rolling Stones," which was shot at the Civic Auditorium in San Francisco in 1965. Her involvement with Cine Portraits includes portraits of Leonard Cohen, Edie Sedgwick, Gregory Corso, the Incredible String Band, Lucy Colella, Arthur C. Clark, Harry Smith, and Syd Barrett. In addition, Ms. Daley was associated with The Hotel Chelsea from 1965 to 1975. She was involved in a collaborative proposal for "Experiments in Art and Technology" with a group of artists and scientists for the Osaka World's Fair in 1970.

Throughout the course of her career, Ms. Daley has been featured in a wide variety of honors publications, including Who's Who in America, Who's Who in the East and Who's Who in the World. She was also featured in the 20th through 28th editions of Who's Who of American Women. Although she is now retired, Ms. Daley continues to enjoy writing and drawing in her spare time.
