ALBUQUERQUE, NM, May 17, 2017 /24-7PressRelease/ -- On Tuesday, Phil Blair, co-owner of Manpower Albuquerque NM branch, will be in town to address the need for workers in the Albuquerque, NM area. With the unemployment rate in Albuquerque higher than the national average, Manpower is still having a hard time finding qualified workers for some of the greatest job growth areas in Albuquerque - Production & Manufacturing. The jobs are out there and many pay well, but many local companies are having a hard time filling positions. We are working to help find them employees.

"Manufacturing, construction and production jobs are on the way back in Albuquerque," said Blair, "How do we get qualified people to apply? We are concerned about being able to fill positions for some of the area's largest employers."

Right now in the United States, there is a huge shortage in skilled production workers. Worse, manufacturing workers are aging and up to 3 million are expected to retire over the next decade. Considering the unemployment rate is so high in the area, we need encourage those looking for employment and those ready to graduate to contact the local Manpower office. Our clients now hire 42% of our temporaries for permanent jobs at their companies. Temporary help jobs are a perfect door opener for permanent jobs.

The President is committing to bringing thousands of manufacturing jobs back to America. However, manufacturing jobs today require very different skills than those a generation or two ago. Though, there are still traditional positions available, American manufacturing now involves more precision, technical jobs, such as fabricating airplane parts.

Until the mid-2000s, the majority of manufacturing positions required only a high school degree, But, now advanced training and skills, problem solving, and technical expertise with certain machines may be involved.

Job seekers beware. Employers, now more than ever in history, are expecting applicants to have a stable work history, a clean background with no convictions, be able to pass drug testing, reliable transportation and the ability to work all shifts. Manpower has the same requirements and we may have a temporary opening for you. In many cases, some positions are available for Temp-to-Hire permanently.

Albuquerque is heavily dependent upon state and federal government jobs. Government facilities here have spun off many supporting technological startup, and there are also opportunities for Chemical Stripping Operators, Production Operator/Manufacturing, Control Clerks, Maintenance Technicians and more.
