Toshiyuki Esaki Named a Lifetime Achiever by Marquis Who's Who

Dr. Esaki is a pharmaceutical chemist with over 41 years of experience, serving as science instructor, applied chemistry faculty, and director of the Esaki Rubber Company of Nagoya, Japan. He is best known for developing computer systems for the prediction of drug activities, quantitative structure-activity relationships, and molecular modeling. For his tireless efforts in his studies, the American Biographical Institute has previously awarded Dr. Esaki the 2011 Gold Medal.

Born in Nagoya in 1947 to Hidetaka and Saku Esaki, Dr. Esaki earned a BS in pharmacy from Kyoto University in 1970, matriculating there to receive a PhD in 1975. He accepted a position as a member of the faculty of engineering with the department of applied chemistry at Nagoya University until 1985, when he became director of Esaki Rubber Company. Additionally, he has served as a part time science teacher with the nearby Daido High School, as well as a part time instructor of computer science at the Shotoku Gakuen Women's Junior College in Gifu, Japan and the Chukyo University in Nagoya.

More recently, Dr. Esaki worked as an abstractor for the Japan Science and Technology Agency in Tokyo from 1982 to 2004, and from 2005 to 2014, he served with Sumika Tech Information Service, Inc. Dr. Esaki is a member of the American Association for the Advancement of Science, the Pharmaceutical Society of Japan, the Chemical Society of Japan, the American Chemical Society, the New York Academy of Sciences. He is a Buddhist. For services to the pharmaceutical chemistry industry, Dr. Esaki was selected for inclusion in numerous volumes of Who's Who in the World, Who's Who in Science and Engineering, and two volumes of Who's Who in Asia in 2007 and 2012.
