John A. Price Named a Lifetime Achiever by Marquis Who's Who

Mr. Price has over four decades of legal experience, including first chair trial experience on a variety of complex business and commercial litigation matters with special emphasis on the areas of antitrust and unfair/deceptive trade practices, business torts, securities fraud, intellectual property, regulatory proceedings, and a wide spectrum of contractual disputes. He is ranked AV Preeminent with 5 out of 5 for legal ability and ethics by Martindale-Hubbell in a peer-reviewed rating. Since 2013, Mr. Price has served as a founding partner with Calhoun, Bhella, Sechrest, LLC with offices in Texas, California, and North Carolina, and he has been a partner of Marcheavant LLC since 2015. He was inspired to go into law because of a desire to insure a fair justice system for everyone, regardless of ethnicity, sex, religion, or economic status.

Mr. Price is an alumnus of Northwest Missouri State University, graduating with a BS in 1969. He served as president of the student union board for two years, was a member of Blue Key National Honorary Society, and was recognized for his leadership and accomplishments by inclusion in Who's Who at the university. In 1972, Mr. Price earned a JD from the University of Kansas School of Law, where he served as an associate editor of the Kansas Law Review and graduated Order of the Coif. During law school, Mr. Price was Student Co-Director of the Douglas County Legal Aid Society, and he served as Special Counsel, Appellate Briefing Clerk, for the Kansas Attorney General's Office.

After law school, Mr. Price served as law clerk for two years to The Honorable Frank Theis, District Judge for the U.S. District Court for the District of Kansas, and then worked in private practice in Kansas City with the law firm of Weeks, Thomas & Lysaught. He joined the Winstead PC law firm in Dallas, Texas in 1982 as a shareholder. During his long tenure with the firm, Mr. Price served as head of the litigation and IP litigation sections.

Mr. Price is certified in civil litigation by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization. He is licensed to practice law in Kansas, Texas and North Carolina, and he is admitted to practice before numerous U.S. District Courts, the Fifth and Tenth Circuit U.S. Courts of Appeal, and the United States Supreme Court. He has been a member of the Pro Bono College of the State Bar of Texas since 1992.

Over the course of a long legal career, Mr. Price's representative clientele has included individuals, public interest organizations, and a wide range of private businesses in a variety of industries. Notable cases have included, to name a few, representing a variety of clients in U.S. Department of Justice civil and criminal antitrust investigations/proceedings, as well as civil class actions and individual lawsuits, pertaining to price fixing and other anti-competitive behavior in the oil, dairy, plumbing, food supply, steel, soft drink bottling, and computer product industries; handling client matters involving products liability, deceptive trade practice, and securities class actions (including representing a trustee bank in a nationwide modular home securities investment scheme class action suit seeking recovery on behalf of returning Vietnam POWs); overseeing the prosecution of over 3,500 lawsuits during the U.S. savings and loan crisis; and handling innumerable IP infringement cases (patent, trademark and copyright), including cases involving such well known trademarks as Blue Bell and Polo.

While not representing clients, Mr. Price has been a speaker at legal CLE course presentations and written articles for state and federal bar journals. He is the author of the books A Gathering of Light: Eternal Wisdom for a Time of Transformation and Soular Reunion: Journey to the Beloved. He has been actively involved in several national organizations, including the World Business Academy, the Institute of Noetic Sciences, and the Campaign for the Earth, and he is the co-founder and president of Wing of Spirit Foundation, a nonprofit, non-denominational spiritual foundation. Mr. Price served on the board of directors of the Dallas United Nations Association, and over the years has been a frequent speaker on the rule of law and human rights. Mr. Price was head of the Dallas, Texas, Citizens Group for SSC, supporting approval and funding of construction of the proposed super-collider, super-conductor particle accelerator near Waxahachie, Texas, and he was the co-president of the Northwood Hills Elementary and Westwood Junior High PTAs.

For his achievements in the legal sphere, Mr. Price was named Who's Who in Litigation by the Dallas Business Journal, and he has been selected for inclusion in numerous volumes of Who's Who in America and Who's Who in American Law. He has consistently been rated as a Texas Super Lawyer.
