Having accrued over 35 years of professional experience, Mr. Greaves held a position as the head of the Division of Creative Arts for the University of Guyana. At the beginning of his impressive career, he worked as a teacher for Sacred Heart Primary before teaching art for St. Stanislaus College, Berbice High School, and Queen's College, as well as an assistant chief examiner of arts and crafts for the Caribbean Examinations Council. He was also head of the division of Creative Arts at the University of Guyana and later an instructor at the Barbados Community College
A graduate of the University of Newcastle-upon-Tyne and Fulbright Scholar at Howard University for the MFA, Mr. Greaves holds a Bachelor of Arts in fine arts, a diploma in art education, and a Master of Fine Arts. Beyond his vocational experience, he has had the honor of hosting one-person shows for his art at the Caribbean Festival of Creative Arts, Barbados Museum, Queen's Park Gallery, Castellani House, and Trinidad National Gallery. Additionally, he has exhibited his work at group shows, including shows in Brazil, Colombia, USA, UK and France.

Mr. Greaves has also written numerous works, including "Horizons," "The Poems Man," "Haiku" and "Art in the Caribbean," which he co-authored with Anne Walmsley. In addition to the personal gratification of a long and rewarding career, Mr. Greaves has won many awards for his endeavors and enterprises, such as the Golden Arrow Award through Guyana's national awards committee. Mr. Greaves has also been honored with features in Who's Who in America and Who's Who in the World.
