Upon his commencement from medical school, he started as an intern with the University of Pennsylvania's affiliated hospital. After serving there as a surgical resident, he transferred to the University of Texas' Southwestern Medical Center as an assistant professor of surgery. Over the years, he has held the roles of associate professor, professor, and chairman for numerous other academic institutions, including the prestigious Cornell University.
An alumnus of Swarthmore College and the University of Pennsylvania, Dr. Curreri holds a Bachelor of Arts, as well as an MD. In order to remain active in the ever-changing field of medicine, he affiliates himself with and served as President of The American Association for the Surgery of Trauma, the American Burn Association, the Halstead Surgical Society, and the Society of University Surgeons.
A contributor to many articles in professional journals, he has been recognized many times for his work in his industry. In addition to earning the Curtis P.
