My message to young Americans
We are fortunate to live in the greatest country on earth. The United States is the most diverse and inclusive culture on earth. Everybody has the freedom to practice their religion without fear of persecution and we all have a right to the freedom of expression. Unless you live in some other countries of the world you will not realize the importance of having these freedoms. The people of the United States are free to pursue any dream or ambition they have. You make your own destiny if you have a dream and discipline.

Personally, I strongly believe that if a person believes in God, surrenders to His will and does righteous things, he will be rewarded. Therefore the decision about salvation will not be made in the name of his religion, but on the basis of his behavior. Those who choose good behavior, kindness, morality, and serving of humanity will be rewarded. Those who neglect the feelings of others and follow evil will be punished.

Therefore, instead of arguing and fighting about which religion is true and which religion is false, we must pay attention to our own religion, our own behavior and make sure that we follow the guidelines prescribed by our sacred book. God gives all human beings the freedom of choice to do good or to engage in evil deeds.

The basic tenets of the 10 commandments are common in all religions. The primary purpose of religion is to serve humanity, live in peaceful coexistence, have cordial relations with each other, show dignity for all human beings and promote universal human rights and justice.

Tolerance, acceptance, and showing respect and dignity to people of all faiths is the only way that people of different religions of the world can live together in peace and harmony. Tolerance should be the main objective to build a harmonious and cohesive community. Therefore followers of all religions should be tolerated, even if they hold what others may perceive as 'intolerant' beliefs.
In this country we have the freedom to disagree, but if our goal is to live peacefully among one another we must learn to treat all people with respect, regardless of their race, religion, color, or creed, even if we don't agree with their beliefs.

Dream big, aim high, work hard and pursue your dream. Strive to be the best you can be and achieve your full potential and create your own legacy. When you become successful, serve others by sharing and giving back.

In recognition of the outstanding contributions to his profession and the Marquis Who's Who community, M. Basheer Ahmed has been featured on the Marquis Who's Who Lifetime Achievers website. Please visit www.ltachievers.com for more information about this honor.
