She has previously been named as a Distinguished Alumna by the University of Pennsylvania, and she was also named to the Nursing Hall of Fame. She is the recipient of numerous awards, the most recent being a Martha May Eliot Award from the American Public Health Association, a Lifetime Achievement Award from the Global Symposium Strengthening Midwifery and a Women of Excellence Award from the Museum of Motherhood Hall of Fame. Her earliest awards include a Rockefeller Public Service Award, the Florence Nightingale Medal and a Letita White Award from the School of Nursing Hospital at the University of Pennsylvania. Dr. Lubic has earned a Never Say Die Award from the DC Primary Care Association and a Woman of Distinction Award from the National Association of Women in Education. Additionally, she has received a Healthy Babies Project Award, a Carola Warburg Rothschild Award from the Maternity Center Association and a Spirit of Nursing Award from Visiting Nurses Services of New York. Various universities have presented awards to Dr. Lubic for her vast achievements. These awards include the Maes-Macinnes Award from New York University, a Distinguished Service Award from Francis Payne Bolton School of Nursing, the McManus Medal and Nurse-Midwifery Faculty Award from Columbia University, as well as a Nursing Practice Award and an Alumni Award from the University of Pennsylvania. Dr. Lubic has been recognized as Maternal-Child Health Nurse of the Year by the American Nurses Association and received an Honorary Recognition from the same group. She has also received an Honorary Recognition from the New York State Nurses Association. In 1993 she was selected for a MacArthur Fellowship (she was the first nurse to receive the so-called "genius award").
