A graduate of both Southern and Northern Illinois University, Mr. Risinger holds a Bachelor of Science in education and a Master of Arts in history. His professional affiliations include the Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development, the National Council for Social Studies, and the National Council of History Education. Throughout his career, he has contributed his extensive knowledge to creative works such as "America! America!" "America's Past and Promise," "Surfing Social Studies: The Internet Book," and "Scott Foresman Social Studies K-6 Series."

In addition to his status as a respected and lauded figure in his field, he has won many awards for his work. In addition to earning numerous public and private educational grants, Mr. Risinger has been featured in Who's Who in America, Who's Who in the World, and Who's Who in American Education.
